Jack the monkey
legend/lyric tale
The monkey lived by the river and when he was hungry he went to the plants and trees by the river and ate his favourite fruit. The monkey also liked to sleep on top of the trees watching the river and watching the other animals eating from their branches. He didn't mind because he could go almost anywhere to collect fruit. But after a while the fruit from the low branchrs ran out and the smaller animals like baby reindeer could not reach the fruit that was higher up and the fruit that fell to the ground had already been eaten by other animals. Then, the monkey, in an act of friendship, went to get the fruit from the higher branches and fed the animals that could not reach them.
The three pieces of woods ( Woodcut ) are intended to create a very simple visual narrative with the principle of representing the short story described above.
